A Months-worth of News

Horrors, it has been over a month since we last posted anything here! I have renewed hopes of keeping this blog up-to-date with all the exciting happenings in our lives, so it should be better in the future.

Since the last post:
The Ikizu and Zanaki translation teams have progressed well in Luke, and it looks hopeful that they'll be starting drafting Genesis before too much longer!

Andrew went on village stay to Miseke, a pretty remote place in the Ikoma language area. He survived, despite five days of being overfed corn and millet beyond his ability to digest as quickly as they gave it to him. He learned a lot, most of it the hard way.

I have been subbing for the finance person in our cluster and am going crazy having to deal with numbers (wretched things!) in addition to words (wonderful creatures!) every day at the office.

We had a fabulously fun and really, really American 4th of July party with friends! There was a bonfire, hotdogs, chips and salsa, watermelon, marshmallows, campfire stories, flag cupcakes, and a cool group of awesome Americans.

We went to Kenya for 10 days! This line is worthy of its own post.

It's been a good six weeks and we're happy, healthy, and enjoying life. Oh yes, and being pretty productive at the translation project, too!
